Taylor said "I learned a lot in those fights,". He also said that he felt those were two of the nasty looking fights, but was of the opinion that "Fighting southpaws has helped me see punches coming a lot better."

Taylor has now exercised the rematch clause between him and Pavlik in his contract and Taylor's promoter, Lou DiBella, said that the rematch was likely be at 166 pounds, instead of the normal 160 pounds at middleweight limit.
